Abstract:
This final report of a 310 Project describes how curriculum based measures and procedures were used to monitor reading and writing performance for adults in an adult basic education program. The measure used for reading performance was repeated oral reading, and the measure used for writing was a three minute writing sample. Results suggest that curriculum based measure of reading and writing may be useful in an adult ABE program because of their feasibility and reliability in monitoring the performance of adults. They may also serve as a supplement to the standardized measures often used to assess performance of adults.
