Abstract:
This brief explains some of the reasons why adolescents attend adult ESL classes and describes the characteristics of adult learners. The brief concludes by providing guidelines for adult ESL program administrators, instructors, and communities to improve adolescent ELLs' chances of success in and beyond adult ESL programs. References are included.
