Abstract:
The Tutor Handbook is a part of a package which also includes a tutor training workshop handbook and is available free from the Clearinghouse. The training guide outlines a systematic method of training volunteers to tutor non-English speakers. Tutoring techniques included are getting to know the students, setting goals and objectives, and planning and conducting a lesson. and a variety of ESL activities.
