Abstract:
This analysis describes the results for the adult learning disabled population of the U.S. welfare reform model which emphasizes "work first." Assessment and screening tools are needed as are mechanisms to refer students to appropriate education, training, and employment opportunities. States can work with employers to alleviate concerns and facilitate workplace accommodations.
