Stronger Starts: Free Parenting Support & Coaching for Your Students

Posted on 02/19/2026

First 5 California has partnered with Cell-Ed to launch Stronger Starts, a free micro-learning and coaching program designed specifically for California parents and caregivers of young children. We encourage you to share this resource with the students in your adult education programs!

Stronger Starts offers trauma-informed, culturally competent parenting support that fits into the busy lives of adult learners.

Benefits for Adult Learners:

  • Accessible Anywhere: No smartphone or internet? No problem. It works via basic cell phone, WhatsApp, tablet, or computer.
  • Bite-Sized Lessons: Courses are chunked into 3-minute lessons, making them easy to complete during a break or commute.
  • Real Human Coaching: Learners get one-on-one support from actual people (not AI) for personalized goal setting and encouragement.
  • Multilingual: Available in English, Spanish, and for intermediate English Language Learners (ELLs).

Course Offerings:

Parenting Tools: Includes courses about Strengthening BondsTeaching Problem-Solving, Managing Power Struggles, Keeping Calm in Challenging Situations, and Building Community.

Immigration Support: In response to the needs of immigrant communities, the program now offers courses on Know Your Rights, Immigration Terms and Pathways, and Immigration Legal Consultations.
