Digital Inclusion Week 2020 Is Here!
Digital Inclusion Week, sponsored by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, is an annual event meant to bring attention to solutions addressing home internet access, personal devices, and local technology training and support programs, with the goal of closing the digital divide that exist in cities and local communities around the country. This year, Digital Inclusion Week is from October 5 to 9.
COVID-19 has shown a white-hot spotlight on digital divide issues that our students and others are currently facing. During Digital Inclusion Week 2020, there are many ways to learn more about and raise awareness of digital equity issues that communities in California face:
-
Share this NDIA infographic on Everyone Needs Internet with students, staff, and stakeholders.
-
Consider doing one or more of the events listed this week or in the future, including hosting a digital resource fair, a workshop on a variety of digital inclusion topics, or a resume rally (go to the Digital Inclusion Week 2020 page and view Registered Activities).
-
In addition to this week's events, connect with NDIA Affiliates in your area and add them to your list of stakeholders (go to the Affiliates page and search for local and California organizations).
-
Follow the Twitter hashtags #digitalequityNOW #Digitalinclusion and #DIW2020 to see what other organizations across the country are working on to close digital divide.
-
Get more information about digital inclusion and digital equity on the NDIA website.
