Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 5/24

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Tuesday, May 25 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
Thursday, May 27 from 12:00 to 1:00pm

On Monday at 1:00pm, Francisco Pinedo will present Canvas Commons – Easy as 1, 2, 3! Participants will be shown the process of importing free courses and modules from Commons into their own free or subscription Canvas account for teachers. Participants will also learn how to customize a course and then share the course with their students. You can sign up for this webinar at the California Adult Education Training Calendar.
On Friday at 9:00am, Natalie Paniccia will present Integrating Google Slides, Zoom, and LMS's. Use Google Slides as a one-stop-shop virtual whiteboard! This presentation will show attendees ways to integrate your Google Slides activities, Zoom, and the LMS you are using in your online classes. On Friday at 3:00pm, Paul Yung will present Moodle – Putting English to Work Course and Resources. This workshop will introduce participants to the Putting English to Work course series within in the Moodle LMS hosted by OTAN, explore the course activities, the role of the instructor, how teachers monitor student progress, automatic and manual grading, and how to manage learners within the course roster.
