The CREATE Adult Skills Network
The Collaborative Research for Educating Adults with Technology Enhancements (CREATE) Adult Skills Network is a national initiative to build knowledge about using technology to support teaching and learning. The CREATE Adult Skills Network is developing a research base about effective ways to use technology in adult learning. It develops, adopts, and evaluates interventions that use technology to build adult learners’ skills and improve their academic outcomes. The Network’s activities and resources guide practitioners, educators, researchers, and policy and funding stakeholders in their work using technology to support adult skills programming.
The CREATE Adult Skills Network is made up of six research teams which are building knowledge about how digital technologies can support, enhance, and expand adult learning in the following areas:
- Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era: Adaptive Technology for Quantitative and Digital Literacy
- Adult Skills Assessment Project: Actionable Assessments for Adult Learners
- Content-Integrated Language Instruction for Adults with Technology Support
- Developing and Implementing a Technology-Based Reading Comprehension Instruction System for Adult Literacy Students
- Teaching Skills That Matter-SkillBlox Instructional Support Pilot
- Writing in Adult Secondary Education Classes
