What is Universal Design for Learning (UDL)?

UDL is a set of principles for curriculum development that gives all individuals equal opportunity to learn.

Why is this important for higher education?

UDL provides useful guidelines for developing curricula, selecting materials and creating learning environments that consider the wide variability of learners in higher education.

UDL is a Framework

The UDL principles are based on the three-network model of learning. These principles guide the design of learning environments with a deep understanding and appreciation for individual variability.
