Distance Learning with Putting English to Work in Moodle

Digital Tools

The entire Putting English to Work 1, 2 and 3 series – 68 half-hour episodes, along with all corresponding workbook exercises and unit assessments – are available online, easily accessible on computers, tablets, and cell phones. The topics — employment, health, independent living, community resources, etc.— are aligned with the CASAS Competencies and Content Standards. On Moodle, students watch videos, complete unit lessons, and can download vocabulary and reading comprehensions for off-line pronunciation and listening practice. Most of the exercises and all the assessments are automatically graded by Moodle. During this presentation participants will experience the course from the teacher and student’s perspective.
