TDLS 2021 - All You Need is Google Jamboard
TDLS
April 2020 and the shift to online classes was a major change and required inspiration from us ESL teachers. We had to change and improve our pedagogy, as we adapted to an online medium. According to Keengwe, Onchwari & Wachira (2008), “Today, educators are faced with many new challenges and responsibilities. One primary task involves determining how best to utilize available technology resources to enhance student learning.” In particular, finding tools to create interactive and motivating online classes and activities can be extremely challenging.
This workshop will help the participants to master Google Jamboard, a modern, innovative, and fun digital tool that promotes student engagement through multiple activities. I will share my experience and demonstrate how to use Jamboard for different subjects, including Grammar, Writing, Listening, Speaking, and Reading. We will create effective Jamboards to share knowledge, explain concepts and offer collaborative platforms to students, promoting the implementation of 21st century skills in online classes. In addition, we will create interactive Jamboards to develop vocabulary in a lively way.
This workshop will include opportunities for demonstration followed by hands-on practice. Then, this amazing free tool could quickly become an essential component of your virtual classes.
