Leading adult education through support for and the effective application of technology.

TDLS 2023 - Who Wants to Get Engaged With Technology?

TDLS

East Side Adult School is piloting a program to train teachers in blended-learning strategies at all programs and levels. In this panel discussion, we will describe the steps we have taken to implement professional development at East Side Adult Education. You will hear perspectives from the ESL Department Chair, an ESL instructor who is the Canvas administrator, and an ASE instructor who is the lead technology teacher and Digital Leadership Academy leader. We hope to gain input from the field on what is currently being done in other schools. Questions for professional development include: 1. What engages you about technology? 2. How do we motivate and encourage teachers to use technology? 3. How do you address resistant teachers? 4. What types of models are you using to provide PD in technology? 5. How do you support instructors in involving students with technology? 6. How do you prevent technology burnout? 7. How do we redefine the role of teaching with technology?
