TDLS 2023 - Facilitating Language Learning with Search Engine Queries and AI Tools

TDLS

Our presentation distinguishes between two types of computer-based queries and how they are useful in the ESL classroom to facilitate learning and improve language skills. This presentation relies on empirical evidence to support the claim that database query, as well as, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ESL education. The presentation includes a demonstration of Flowspeak, an AI-powered application that simulates interactive English conversations with ESL learners that provides personalized feedback on English-speaking performance. Participants will go away from this presentation with real and virtual tools to implement in their online, or hybrid classroom.
