This brief summarizes 2007-08 data about how the California Adult Education Program serves state and national interests by providing lifelong educational opportunities and support services to more than 1.2 million adults. Included are the literacy needs of California adult learners, enrollment statistics, learner outcomes and goal attainment, promising practices, and leadership project highlights.
