ACSA (Association of California School Administrators) and CAEP (California Adult Education Program) TAP (Technical Assistance Program) 2023 Honorees
Each year, since May 2006, OTAN recognizes Students Succeed honorees who are successful as a result of an adult education program. Agencies nominate students who inspire and embody a resilient spirit, overcome difficult challenges, contribute to their communities, and improve their own circumstances. This year OTAN celebrates with our adult education community the amazing honorees and programs, instructors, administrators, and support staff which support adult learning.
Each year, a nomination window opens for agencies to nominate a deserving student. Each nomination is then scored using a rubric whereby candidates qualify to have their stories and picture published on the OTAN CAESS website. https://adultedlearners.org/ This year thirty-two students scored within this range and joined all the other student stories throughout the years.
Among the thirty-two honorees, the top four scoring adult learners were then selected for the ACSA Every Student Succeeding Award ceremony or the CAEP TAP Summit Awards Ceremony. Representing adult education at the ACSA Every Student Succeeding Award Ceremony, November 2nd at the Sacramento Convention Center are Ri’Keishia Seward, https://adultedlearners.org/Students/Student/348
Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools, and Cecilia Delgado https://adultedlearners.org/Students/Student/353 from LAUSD/DACE Harbor Occupational Center.
The two CAEP TAP 2023 Honorees are Maria Cornellier https://adultedlearners.org/Students/Student/329 Castro Valley Adult and Career Education, and Francisco Solano https://adultedlearners.org/Students/Student/346, Salinas Adult School. Their success will be celebrated at the CAEP TAP Summit, in October at the Hilton in Universal City.
Each of our honorees embodies the dedication and resilience needed to reach their educational goals despite each person’s own unique circumstances. Congratulations to all our honorees!
