Upcoming OTAN Activities to Support Adult Educators – Week of 4/26

OTAN has scheduled a number of online webinars and Office Hours for our adult education colleagues who are teaching and supporting their learners remotely. (All times below are PDT.)

OTAN Office Hours provide an opportunity to ask more detailed questions and get support on specific tools to use with students. You can sign up for these OTAN Office Hours at the California Adult Education Training Calendar:

Tuesday, April 27 from 4:00 to 5:00pm
Thursday, April 29 from 12:00 to 1:00pm

On Wednesday at 1:00pm, Debbie Jensen will present CK-12: Free Digital Textbooks for Adult Education, Part 3. Time to show off the digital FlexBooks® you have made! We will also show you how to create classes in CK-12 or through an LMS, to make assignments, and to track student progress, as well as some amazing CK-12 advanced features. On Thursday at 11:00am, Susan Gaer will present Thinglink: Make Interactive Student Lessons. Thinglink allows you to integrate tools into images to help students visualize learning. You will be shown how to get a free Thinglink account, find an image or images, and add three interactive elements into an image. On Friday at 1:00pm, Susan Gaer will present the Triple E Framework. The Triple E Framework helps teachers design authentic lessons to integrate technology into their lesson design. Participants will learn about the Triple E Framework and Rubric, view a lesson using the framework, and see lesson resources that may apply on the OTAN website.
